Thermal transfer print
Personalization can be done via several methods: The first method is via thermaltransfer printing, which is utilized for printing onto the cards in the cases of serial numbers, names, standard barcodes, QR codes. The following types of barcodes are subject to personalization: Bookland, Codabar (Rationalized Version), Code 11, Code 128 (A, B, C), Code 2 of 5 (Standard, Matrix, Data Logic, IATA, Industrial, Interleaved), Code 2 of 7, Code 25, Code 39 (3of9), Code 32, Code 39 Extended, Code 93, Code 93 Extended, DAFT Code, DOD Logmars, DUN14, DUNS, EAN128 (GS1128), EAN13, EAN13 (with 2 or 5 Digits AddOn), EAN14, EAN18, EAN8, EAN8 (with 2 or 5 Digits AddOn), EAN8 with 5 Digits AddOn, FIN Code, Flattermarken, GS1128, GTIN, HIBC, I2/5, ISBN Code (ISBN 13), ISBT128
Digital print
The second one is done via digital printing, which in turn is used for numbers, names, and photos. It is suitable for the production of badges and ID cards. The great advantage of the personalization of digital printing is that it allows for absolute protection of data from destruction done for example by scratching or abrasion, since the entire print remains protected by the layer of laminate over it. Thus, one ensures the durability of the personalized data, which is sufficient for the most critical applications.
Embossed personalisation
The next method is via embossed personalization, which in turn is two types: Emboss and infill. Embossing allows the symbols to be convex and have a silver or gold finish. On the other hand, the infill "carves" the symbols in the card area, and they can be colored with white or black. The last method is seen in the back of credit cards and with it is written the CVC code. In both cases we have a physical deformity of the cards with letters, numbers and symbols. This provides greater security because the card becomes more difficult to counterfeit.
Electronic personalisation
The next method is via electronic personalization and is used when the card has an electronic information medium, such as magnetic stripe, contact or contactless chip. If necessary, one can extract the information from the chip of the card and can personalize it on its surface, as well as can provide the client with the database that corresponds to the numbers of the chips. On the magnetic stripe can be recorded a limited number of data. Our company offers two types of magnetic stripes: LoCo or low coercivity stripe, is used in cases when the information is kept for a short period of time for example, from one to several days. Similar magnetic stripes are widely usable in hotels for keycards, entertainment complexes and other. Furthermore, this type of magnetic stripe is offered in brown, which is the standard and more widespread color, and in black color but only on request by the client, since it is more expensive. HiCo or high coercivity stripe is a magnetic stripe, which is suitable for cards that are to be used for a longer period of time, for example more than a month. It is offered mainly in black color, but can also be made in gold or silver. In it the information is recorded with a stronger magnetic field and thus for its destruction one needs the same strength of the magnetic field. HiCo is utilized for loyalty cards, gas stations, pharmacies and others. In those cases when is needed a consistency between the data from thermal and electronic personalization, for instance in the personalization of “name by name” contactless cards, it is necessary to know the number of each chip for the corresponding name. In such cases, we provide the relevant database, according to customer’s requirements. When the card is given along with a sheet (see packing) or other promotional package, part of the personalized information has to stay with the seller. In these cases are used removable labels. They contain personalized information in the form mainly of barcodes, and are glued on the card.
Standard packaging
One uses cartons for 10, 250 or 500 cards. The cartons themselves are placed in cardboard boxes suitable for 1000, 2000 or 3000 cards. The cardboard boxes in turn are placed in pallets and additionally packed with nylon, stretch foil film and solid cardboard corners, for protection from moisture and mechanical damage.
Packaging on demand
It is possible for the cards to be packaged in little cartons in different number (20, 50, 60, etc.), depending on customer’s wishes. This type of packaging is subject to further negotiation with the client in terms of type and price.
Removable labels
Individual packaging and mailing
It includes various types of nonstandard packaging. For instance, packaging separately every single card in a bag made of cellophane. Thus, the cards remain optimally protected from scratching up to their final arrival to the customer. In addition, the cards can be packaged separately in a promotional box, envelope, or can be glued on a brochure. The packaging can be printed with a design specified by the customer. This type of packaging is subject to further negotiation with the client in terms of type and price.
